Abstract

Coconut fruit is a type of aren-arenan plant or Arecacaea, is a versatile plant because almost all of its parts can be used by humans.The decomposition process in coconut coir processing aims to separate the coconut coir (coco fiber) from the outer skin of the coconut (cocopeat), where each type of material has its own function and selling point. Therefore, the process of destroying coconut shells and coconut husks or coconut fibers is carried out to be used as planting media and a mixture of compost. From the research results obtained, this cocopeat machine uses Astm a36 material as a frame with a total load of 591.5 N, and uses solidworks software to simulate the frame to find out whether the frame is suitable for use or not, using the same material as the design. so that there is no material wastage in its manufacture, and using 1-3 mm plates on the housing hooper so that it is not noisy during the process of destroying coconut shells and fibers.The testing process on the cocopeat engine with variations in the rotation of the gasoline motor on the engine with a speed of 200-800 rpm produces the highest coconut shell powder 0.8 kg at a speed of 800 rpm on the blade model B, as for coconut fiber, the highest is 0.7 with a speed of 800 rpm on the blade model B.
