As one of the busiest straits in the world and a strategic shipping route, the Malacca Strait experiences several problems, one of which is ship accidents, collisions and shipwrecks. Therefore, vessel traffic surveillance activities in the Malacca Strait are necessary. AIS technology can function as a tool to monitor the presence and movement of ships, facilitate rescue activities at sea (SAR) and investigation in the event of a ship accident. However, the installed AIS devices are still not fully able to carry out surveillance activities without the support of adequate applications to decode, filter, store AIS data into a database and visualize it in the form of a map interface. This research focuses on developing AIS Front-End applications that are used as data visualization in the form of more interactive web maps. To ensure that the application can run according to its functionality, the application will be tested using the black-box method and compatibility testing. Where the results of application testing get all application functionality has run well and the application interface can run well on desktop, tablet and mobile devices. So that the developed application is ready to be launched into the real environment to monitor ship traffic, especially in the waters of the Malacca Strait.References
