Abstract

The development of information technology has had a significant impact in various sectors, including in service industries such as laundry services. In a laundry business, it is important to provide estimated turnaround times to customers so that they can plan their activities effectively. However, determining accurate and precise time estimates is a challenge faced by many laundry service providers. In this study, we propose a system for determining laundry time estimation that applies the Naïve Bayes Classifier method. The features used consist of: laundry weight, number of washing queues, number of ironing queues, type of weight during the washing process, type of weight during the ironing process and type of weight during the packaging process. The dataset of 80 data was obtained from the results of data collection at one laundry service (Omah Laundry) which has one washer-dryer and one ironer.  The data collection stage involves observing and recording activities for several days. The test results that have been carried out show that the use of Naïve Bayes Classifier in determining the estimated laundry time reaches an accuracy rate of 83.3%. This shows that the system developed is able to provide a fairly accurate time estimate and can be implemented in laundry services.
