Abstract

Internet of Things (IoT) technology is a microcontroller application with a WiFi interface and MQTT protocol. IoT is a technology that allows "things" in an embedded system to exchange information. This technology requires interactive media in the form of learning modules that can demonstrate IoT mechanisms. Therefore, in this research a learning module for the Internet of Things system was designed and implemented using an ESP32 microcontroller with the MQTT cloud protocol. This learning system uses ultrasonic sensors and temperature sensors as input. Meanwhile, the sensor data output is displayed on the MQTT dashboard using a web browser. The results of this research show that the sensor data displayed on the MQTT dashboard is the same as the sensor data sent. Sensor data is sent (published) to the MQTT cloud with the same topic as the topic received by the sensor data (subscribed) and also to the MQTT cloud using the published and subscribed mechanism
