Abstract

Indonesian language subject at Polytechnics should be aligned with the current industry needs based on sustainable environmental practices to support Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Therefore, Indonesian Language subject at Pangkep State Polytechnic of Agricultural is designed with an environmental perspective, applying Ecological Literacy on climate change. The objective of this research is to describe the critical discourse analysis of the implementation of Ecological Literacy on climate change in this learning interaction to shape students' environmental awareness. This study analyzes the experiential, relational, and expressive values observed from the selection of text structure, grammar, and vocabulary in classroom learning interactions. The method employed is a qualitative approach through critical discourse analysis using the Fairclough model. Data were collected through observations during learning activities with observation instruments. Data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman's flow model. The research findings indicate that (1) the text structure is predominantly controlled by the lecturers, (2) experiential value is found in the selection of expressive grammar, (3) and experiential value involves words, adjectives, verbs, and informal vocabulary. These findings demonstrate that the implementation of Ecological Literacy on climate change in Indonesian Language learning can enhance students' environmental awareness.
