Administrative assessment for academic learning purposes is different from that of assessing students’ performance after they have completed one particular or a series of industrial practical work, particularly in vocational-based higher education institutions. Administrative assessment that has been predominantly used to assess performance in the industrial practice is, of course, does not in nature comply with the vocational industrial training practice jobs and will result in appropriate outcomes impacting on their competence and skill quality This manuscript proposes assessment via group discussions for their practice jobs, particularly for those who undergo their vocational higher education study such as that of polytechnics in Indonesia. Assessment via Group discussions for such jobs have advantages that can measure their competencies and skills in line with the industrial jobs standardReferences
