PENGGUNAAN FISH FINDER SEBAGAI UPAYA PENINGKATAN HASIL TANGKAPAN NELAYAN TRADISIONAL DI BARRANG LOMPO, KEPULAUAN SANGKARRANG

Abstract

Real efforts to increase the catch of  fishermen by utilizing modern technology such as fish finders have been done.  Fish finder is a detection tool that makes it easier for fishermen to know the location of the fish crowd. The team has conducted monitoring and assisting for using fish finder to partners.

The results was the ease of fishermen in determining the direction of the ship to the fishing spot. In addition, with the use of this tool, the results obtained by fishermen are more than ordinary catches. The team also had time to assist fishermen in determining the location of fish that have the potential to be caught. Fishing activities (fishing rod method) carried out on Sept. 16, 2023, earned a catch of 50 kg. This result is fairly large compared to the daily catch of partners who can only produce an average of 20-30kg per day
