PEMBERDAYAAN MASYARAKAT PERMUKIMAN KUMUH MELALUI PENGEMBANGAN POTENSI LOKAL BERBASIS TEKNOLOGI TERAPAN

Abstract

The West Oesapa Village is one of the community development villages affiliated with the Kupang State Polytechnic. Therefore, in the 2023-2025 Community Empowerment Program, it has been designated as the focal point for addressing unresolved priority issues. One of the urgent problems is related to environmental aspects. The objectives of this community service activity under the regional empowerment scheme are as follows: 1). To apply and implement the research results of the Kupang State Polytechnic proposal team that are relevant to the urgent needs of the community in the West Oesapa affiliated village, 2). To provide solutions to the challenges faced by partners through a holistic approach based on multidisciplinary research by the proposal team, which includes expertise in Environmental Science,Tourism,Mechanical Engineering, and Information Technology, 3). To assist and support the government's programs in developing the community and addressing regional issues to ensure the successful implementation of the Kupang City RPJMD/Des program, 4). To enhance the self-reliance and well-being of the community in terms of the environment, 5). To strengthen the synergy between higher education institutions, the Kupang City Government, CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility), and relevant government agencies in the development of the West Oesapa region. The approach methods used include technology transfer, knowledge transfer, and monitoring of partner development. The outcomes of this project include the application of appropriate technology, such as solar-powered plastic waste crushers, the enhancement of partner soft skills, and an increase in partner empowerment
