Abstract

The aim of this activitys to design a micro-scale wind and solar power plant to be implemented for the lighting system on traditional fishing boats. The research method used is an experimental method consisting of design, manufacturing and testing to evaluate the micro power plant performance and energy storage system. From the test results, it was found that the combination of a micro-scale Wind Power Plant (WPP) and Solar Power Plant (SPP) system with a capacity of 40 Watts each, could serve a fishing boat lighting system with 2 lamps with a capacity of 2x 20 Watts for 9 hours at night with a total energy consumption of 190.1 Wh. The daily energy that can be produced by the two micro generators is an average of 225 Wh, where the energy storage system uses 1 battery with a capacity of 18 Ah with a voltage of 13 V, which can accommodate the energy produced by the two micro scale power plants. The contribution of (SPP) in producing daily energy is greater compared to (WPP), this is because the wind speed at sea level is very fluctuating.
