Abstract

This project aimed to support the growth of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) by providing sales booths and delivering halal certification socialization at Politeknik Negeri Batam. The initiative focused on empowering local businesses, particularly in the food and beverage sector, by equipping them with the necessary tools and knowledge to comply with halal certification requirements. The project involved several stages, including interviews and selection of booth recipients, booth distribution, and halal certification workshops. The impact was assessed through satisfaction surveys, which indicated that the distribution of booths and the halal training significantly aided the SMEs in improving their product quality, marketability, and operational efficiency. The training was also crucial as all food and beverage products in Indonesia must be halal-certified by October 2024. This program thus contributed positively to the competitiveness and sustainability of SMEs in the region.
