Abstract

The provision of vocational education is learning that focuses on mastering certain skills based on applied science. Due to these achievements, the Department of Mechanical Engineering has arranged a lecture mechanism in the form of student practice through the availability of supporting facilities in the form of workshops or laboratories. The Car Body Laboratory focuses on the process of repairing and maintaining car bodies due to damage or long vehicle life. The problem is that when the vehicle is in repair condition, it takes quite a long time to work, making it difficult to restart the vehicle because the battery components are not charged. So, solar chargers are used as a means of maintaining car batteries. The result achieved is the production of a solar charger product, for charging car batteries, with a voltage from the solar panel to the controller of 14 volts, while the battery charging voltage is 12.5 volts. A voltage of 12.5 V is supplied to the balance charger. If applied in the afternoon, the voltage from the solar panel to the controller is 12 volts.
